Wow, we've been here for two whole days now! It's been quite a trip...dodging weather...making a lot of last minute changes to schedule for the Pastor here, etc. etc. But, the students are doing great and they are getting A LOT accomplished. The construction team has been doing sheet rock, laying baseboards, sanding walls, building the stage area (after Carl ran the speak cables - it was great he was along) and doing a beautiful job on landscape. Arthur is keeping us organized in the construction area. Our door-to-door teams have been busy passing out materials in several different "zones" around the church. I could go on and on and on about that...the state of the homes still, the willingness of the people to listen, etc. I'll do a much more detailed status after I get back. No injuries...all is well...a couple of sore throats. We were in and out of the rain getting here Thursday and yesterday door-to-door.
We even went to a Crawfish Festival last night for two hours for a little enjoyment and soaking up the atmosphere!! Pictures of us sucking the heads of the crawfish will come later!!! Woo Hoo!
Keep praying for us...there have been some tears and opened eyes at what these people have been through since Katrina.
I had to come to the church office to do powerpoint for their church service tomorrow so that is the only reason I had wifi access on Bro. Sean's laptop. I doubt I'll get again until I get back! It's beautiful here today...sunny with a high of 69.
We love you all and we will be back soon!
